Realizó estudios en la Escuela Elemental de Artes Plásticas 20 de Octubre y en la Academia Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro, ambas en La Habana. Fue discípulo de Arturo Montoto, con quien realizó varios proyectos murales. Vive y trabaja en Miami.
En su trabajo se ve la madurez de quien ha asumido con claridad su vocación de pintor y la seguridad de quien se ha entregado por completo al estudio, la técnica, la reflexión y la contemplación. Su obra supone una revisión personal y colectiva a la vez, subjetiva y concreta, de lugares, acciones y objetos cotidianos para revelarlos en su cruda realidad, quizás para contar la mejor historia posible.
"En los dibujos de la etapa en que yo salía de Cuba se reflejaba decadencia, yo diría que aunque con una intención realista, esos dibujos tienen mucho de expresionistas. Cuba es un país con muchos problemas. Hay mucha prostitución, pero es prostitución escondida, la falta de recursos hace que la gente cambie sexo por ropa, una salida a algún lugar o por comida. Lo peor es que se hace por voluntad propia, nadie te obliga, sólo la situación, nadie te secuestra o te obliga a tener sexo por dinero. Es denigrante". Yampier Sardina.

He studied in Escuela Elemental de Artes Plásticas 20 de Octubre and in Academia Nacional de Artes Plásticas San Alejandro, both in Havana, Cuba. He was Arturo Montoto's disciple, with whom he participated in a number of mural projects. He lives and works in Miami.
In his work, it can be observed the maturity of one that has fully realized his vocation as a painter and the security of whom has given himself completely to the study, technique, reflection and contemplation. His work consists of a revision that is both personal and collective, subjective and concrete, of places, actions and everyday objects, to reveal them in their raw reality, maybe to tell the best possible story.
"In the drawings of the time in which I left Cuba you can observe decadence, I would say that even with a realistic intention, those drawings are really expressionist. Cuba is a country with many problems. There is a lot of prostitution, but it is a hidden prostitution, the lack of resources corners people into exchanging sex for clothes, a day out or food. The worst is that it is done voluntarily, no one makes you, only the situation, no one kidnaps you or forces you to have sex for money". Yampier Sardina.
