Es egresado de la Licenciatura en Artes Plásticas por La Esmeralda. Fue acreedor al Premio Nacional de Pintura Julio Castillo en 2014, a la beca del programa Jóvenes Creadores del FONCA en ese mismo año y al tercer lugar en la V Bienal de Pintura Pedro Coronel en 2016.
"El tema central de mi producción es la periferia de la ciudad, es un tema que me interesa porque es el lugar donde he vivido. Para mí es importante, porque es el lugar donde se ve el impacto tanto social y ecológico del hombre, la basura siempre va a dar a la periferia, la pobreza también, todo lo que denigramos, todo lo que no queremos va a la periferia. Entonces, para mí es importante porque es dignificar este lugar. No quiero hacer una apología de la pobreza, quiero que la periferia sea un espacio de reflexión estética". Joaquín Flores.

He graduated from La Esmeralda. He won Premio Nacional de Pintura Julio Castillo in 2014, a scholarship from Jóvenes Creadores by FONCA that same year and was awarded third place at V Bienal de Pintura Pedro Coronel in 2016.
"The central theme of my production is the city's periphery, which interests me as it is the place where I have lived. It is important to me because it is the place where one can experience human's social and ecological impact: trash always ends up in the periphery, as well as poverty, everything we deem unworthy. Therefore, it is important for me to dignify this place. I don't intent to make an apologetic defense for poverty but to present it as a space for aesthetic reflection". Joaquín Flores.
